Brushstroke Painting a Rose

This is 's OC. Sadly, she is off model-ish.

I was reading up on the difference between hard and soft edges in painting and when to use one or another in a painting. I don't think I truly grok it, but there's nothing to do but keep studying I guess.
Anyway, the fun thing with this one is the window light/shadow, the last time I tried something like this was the Daring Do and the Ferocious Felines, with the light behind the bars. Sadly, I kind of fudged up the bar shadows on that one. So I tried it again here. Those shadows are annoying, crawling and stretching across the ground and objects like crawling shadow-things... I still need to practice this.

Ponies doing art seems to be a stand-by for me now...
