|Low level office clerk by day, artist by night.|
It's been a long time since I posted a journal.
I've been struggling with the same thing I had been two years ago when I made the last journal post. I'm still trying to improve my art output. I don't have much trouble studying art, but it's always hard to take the time to sit down and *do* art. I usually don't have trouble doodling/sketching but I have trouble sitting down and finishing a piece. Like if I put one hour in it and don't like where the image is going, I just abandon the picture instead of slogging through and finishing it. On the one hand this is a good thing, healthy self-criticism is important. But on the other this means that because I leave so many images as roughs I don't get to really practice the techniques and skills it takes to *really* finish a painting. Or at least get it to a presentable level. Even if the base image isn't that great concept or composition-wise, it can still be used as practice. Getting an illustration to a presentable level (cleaning it up, adding details.etc) is a set of skills and know how that needs to be honed and practiced on it's own.
But anyways, I am going to try to post an image a couple of times a week instead of once every week or two. It will still be mostly pony or pony related but there may be some other things seeping in. But do not worry, there will always be pony.
